Corona Virus (COVID- 19) | Paragraph
COVID - 19 is a disease caused by a new strain of Corona Virus.
'CO' stands for Corona, 'VI' for Virus and 'D' for Disease. Formerly, this
disease was referred to as '2019 Novel Corona Virus' or '2019-nCoV’. This new
virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in
December 2019. According to the latest report of WHO, 27.69 million people have
affected and 0.90 million people have died due to COVID- 19. The virus affects
different people in different ways. The new Corona Virus is a respiratory virus
which spreads primarily through droplets generated when an infected person
coughs or sneezes, or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose.
Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without
hospitalization. Although for most people COVID - 19 causes only mild illness,
it can make some people very ill. More rarely, the diseases can be fatal. Older
people and those with pre- existing medical conditions (such as high blood
pressure, heart problems or diabetes) appear to be more vulnerable. Symptoms of
the disease are fever, cough, sore throat, headaches, tiredness etc. In severe
cases difficulty in breathing and deaths can occur. This virus is spreading
indiscriminately. As prevention is better than cure we should prevent the
spread of this virus. To prevent the spread of COVID- 19 we should clean our
hands often with soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub. Maintain a safe
distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Wear a mask when physical
distancing is not possible. Should not touch our eyes nose or mouth. Cover our
nose and mouth with our bent elbow or a tissue when we cough or sneeze. Stay
home if we feel unwell. If we have a fever, cough and difficulty in breathing,
we should seek medical attention. After identifying this virus the world have
been stuck. Our life have been miserable. If we want to bring back our easy and
happy life, we should be cautious about this virus and obey the safety rules
properly.
